Welcome to Northridge
Northridge may be one of Los Angeles’s finest neighborhoods for balanced, family living. This gem of a neighborhood is just north of downtown Los Angeles and offers easy access to the best green spaces in southern California as well as a comfortable suburban lifestyle. The area was originally named North Los Angeles but adopted its current name in the 1930s to avoid confusion as the city grew larger. Northridge is among Los Angeles’ least densely populated areas. Most of the homes in Northridge have space for nice yards. Architecture is a mixture of modern and retro and there are also some luxury condominiums and townhouses. The residents of Northridge love having a quiet haven away from the hustle of downtown and the glitz of Hollywood.
The population of Northridge is a mixture of families, young professionals, and students from nearby California State University. Families are attracted to the good schools in Northridge. The Susana Mountains give the area a lovely backdrop, and the neighborhood is close to natural areas like Rocky Peak Park and Lake Balboa to the north and south. Some favorite local spots include Brent’s Deli, open since 1967, Joe’s Cafe, and the Yard House.
