Welcome to Canoga Park
Canoga Park is a suburban neighborhood less than 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Its calm suburban streets are perfect for getting out and walking the dog or going for a jog. The summers here are a bit warmer than downtown Los Angeles, perfect for enjoying the pool or the nearby beaches of Santa Monica and Malibu. There are several streams running through the neighborhood as well as bike paths, offering a nice taste of nature. Canoga Park was originally named Owensmouth and became part of Los Angeles in 1917. It adopted its current name in 1931. Today, the area is almost entirely residential with beautiful, nicely sized ranch homes. Residents prize its calm streets and nice atmosphere.
The population of Canoga Park is a nice mix of young singles, couples, and families. You’ll find a small downtown area, but most of the streets are quiet with yards full of trees and flowers. Some of the key favorite gathering spots include classic diner Nat’s West Cafe, the watering holes of the Rabbit Hole Bar and 8one8 Brewing, and the sports facilities at Lanark Recreation Center.
